The "Illusion" is Southern California surfer, skater, vlogger, spiritual advisor, and most notably, husband and father, Hamish Patterson. I wrote this song for his fanbase of over 100K YouTube subscribers known as the, "High Frequency Tribe". He has published thousands of videos and live-streams on various topics for over a decade. I should have given him a lyrical credit because some of what I used are from his videos, some not. His house burned to the ground in the Malibu fire of November 2018, and that's kind of where it begins. This is the unofficial, unauthorized theme song for the Malibu Illusion’s video series. The “pink moment” is a local phenomenon in the California town of Ojai, that either may, or may not occur at sunset. During optimum conditions, the ridge line on the Topa Topa Mountain Range will briefly glow pink as the sun sets over the horizon. It is extraordinary if it is covered in a rare snow, and is visible from town, down to the ocean. This will also happen when I drop a strawberry into my champagne flute.
